Program Manager University of Arizona Tucson, Arizona, United States
Session Abstract: How do you manage updating or refreshing institutional reporting tools? When is it time to retire content altogether? Institutions invest significant time and resources in building data infrastructures, yet as needs evolve, many products can outlive their purpose. This session explores the University of Arizona’s student enrollment content overhaul which involved sunsetting dashboards, data warehouse tables, and launching modern successors. By providing clear migration paths, transparent documentation, and direct communication with stakeholders on why updates were needed, we built trust and eased the transition. Participants will gain strategies on how to address resistance to change, requests for legacy data, and fostering partner buy-in, leaving with a practical roadmap for managing the data lifecycle at their own institutions.
