Data Training & Communication Manager Weber State University Ogden, Utah, United States
Session Abstract: Weber State University built a structured data literacy program using role-based tracks and micro-credentials to enhance staff and faculty capacity for data-informed decision-making. The program moves beyond one-off training to a sustainable cultural movement by linking learning to the student lifecycle (enrollment, retention, graduation) and core business processes. This poster showcases the curriculum's four-part structure (Intro, Core, Role-Based, Special Training) and the use of the Data Explorer, Navigator, Citizen, and Champion badges to certify progress and apply data insights across various roles (advisors, department chairs, leaders) for improved student outcomes. Attendees will gain practical models to adapt a similar structured, results-oriented training program at their institutions.
