Director of Student Success Analytics and Technologies Bowling Green State University-Main Campus Bowling Green, Ohio, United States
Session Abstract: Bowling Green State University is demonstrating how the power of connection across data, systems, and people can strengthen student success. By integrating information from sources such as the learning management system, early alerts, student organizations, athletic events, meal swipes, and community service, BGSU developed a unified 0–3 engagement scale to measure levels of involvement. This connected approach breaks down silos, improves data literacy, and provides actionable insights that help campus partners deliver timely and targeted support. Analysis of these data sets reveals a clear relationship between engagement, retention, and academic achievement. By transforming fragmented data into a cohesive understanding of student behavior, BGSU has created a model for how collaboration and integration can drive meaningful institutional change and improve student outcomes.
