Session Abstract: Institutional research (IR) offices are essential to advancing student success, yet many face chronic under-resourcing, heavy compliance demands, and barriers to building a data-informed culture on campus. This discussion will explore strategies IR leaders can use to balance reporting obligations with institutional effectiveness research, engage stakeholders to strengthen collaboration, and take practical steps to grow data capacity even in resource-constrained contexts. Participants will share challenges and promising practices, examine examples of institutions that have shifted data culture, and leave with new ideas for advancing data-informed decision-making on their campuses.
