Session Abstract: Traditional university metrics, often based on STEM outputs like publications, citations, and grant totals, fail to capture the core impact of Fine Arts faculty (e.g., performances, exhibitions, community outreach). Without context-aware measurement, decisions regarding resource allocation and tenure are misaligned. This session presents a hybrid model developed at FSU to champion a new framework for faculty achievement in creative fields. We detail the pilot project undertaken by the College of Music to build a repository of success markers defined by the faculty themselves, balancing quantitative data (Faculty performance databases, grants) with qualitative assessment (external reviews, audience impact, alumni success). Attendees will gain practical strategies for developing nuanced, inclusive metrics and strengthening accreditation narratives.
