Session Abstract: As institutional researchers and planners, we are often tasked with preparing our institutions for what’s next, yet many traditional planning tools do not account for the complexity and uncertainty we face. Join us for an interactive session exploring the application of strategic foresight in institutional research. This session introduces TRUolopoly, a scenario-based game designed to build futures literacy and deepen understanding of how emerging future implications are shaping today’s operations and planning. Through play, participants will explore how strategic foresight can enrich institutional planning and research by exploring trends, implications and imagining alternative futures. The attendees will leave with tools designed to develop a holistic understanding of the current landscape while also considering long-term trends and emerging challenges. This session equips members with a practical tool to support more adaptive and resilient planning in their own institutions.
