Thomas Zimmerman is a recent graduate of the PhD in Higher Education program at Rutgers University. His research interests include higher education policy with a focus on financial aid, state funding for higher education, higher education law, and student success. He has published articles in the Journal of College Student Retention: Research, Theory & Practice and the Journal of Student Financial Aid on topics ranging from how financial stress relates to campus climate perceptions to how student debt at graduation impacts post-graduate financial stress. Thomas presently works as a Research and Data Associate for the New Jersey Office of the Secretary of Higher Education, and his portfolio includes supporting the data collection and maintenance efforts of the agency.
