Dr. Brittany N. Dernberger serves as the Director of Research and Evaluation for the ADVANCE Program at University of Michigan, producing insights about faculty recruitment and retention that inform university decision-making.
Brittany is a social scientist who has more than 15 years of experience leading research and organizational learning across academia, philanthropy, government, large international NGOs, and small nonprofits. She regularly speaks to groups about cultural hot topics and evaluation best practices. An accomplished mixed-methods researcher, Brittany’s research has been published in several academic journals and featured in outlets such as The New York Times, The Atlantic, The Hill, and Ms. Magazine. She regularly teaches college courses and has been an affiliate faculty member at several universities.
Previously, Brittany led complex evaluations and impact measurement for CARE, supported sexual assault research at the U.S. Department of Defense, and led evaluation at the Steelcase Foundation.
