Yongchao (Yimi) Zhao, PhD (she/her/hers)

Dr. Yongchao Zhao leads the Office of Assessment, Institutional Research & Effectiveness (AIRE) at New York City College of Technology – City University of New York (City Tech – CUNY). She is a data-driven higher education leader with more than a decade of experience in institutional research, assessment, and accreditation strategy. Dr. Zhao integrates advanced analytics and artificial intelligence methodologies to inform strategic decision-making, enhance student success initiatives, and strengthen institutional effectiveness. She holds a PhD in Quantitative Methods, a Master’s in Statistics, and recently completed an 18-month Artificial Intelligence Certificate at Columbia University in September 2025.
