Session Abstract: Academic program reviews are crucial to understanding program performance and sustainability. Program reviews are used to support data-informed decision-making processes and can impact the distribution of resources and the future of the program. One community college found that student data and expense reports were not enough to fully inform stakeholders tasked with determining program efficacy. This problem was addressed through development of program viability measures: a set of measures designed to address program stability, performance, and institutional context through readily available campus data. The addition of these measures to create a more comprehensive data package for program reviews was well-received by stakeholders, and the college intends to expand the use of these measures beyond the program review cycle. This session will review the program viability measures and their interpretation and application within a community college academic program review.
