Session Abstract: This session will share lessons learned from a campus-wide Workday ERP transition for HR and Finance. We will discuss the stages of the implementation, highlighting how project tasks were divided into individual “workstreams” that sometimes fostered siloing and hindered collaboration. We will also explore the evolving and often uncertain understanding of team member's roles, both within the institution and with external consultants, and the challenges that arose from that ambiguity. Nearly every attendee will participate in an ERP transition at some point in their careers, and the risks to data quality and governance during this period are high. Participants will leave with practical insights into how ERP systems are implemented, strategies for ensuring key campus stakeholders contribute effectively, and tools to maintain data integrity and governance in times of institutional change.
