Session Abstract: Data often slows institutions down, creating friction instead of momentum. This session reframes IR as the institutional yes button: the unit that transforms data into strategic enablement. We will show how infrastructure, governance, automation, and culture elevate IR beyond reporting, using Utah Tech’s journey as a case study. Examples include aligning faculty workload, automating compliance reporting, and combining curricular and co-curricular engagement data. Participants will leave with a clear framework and practical steps—including how to begin scripting automated data flows in R—that position IR to reduce friction and expand their institution’s capacity to deliver on strategy.
