Smriti A. Ingrole, Ph.D., is the Lead, Decision Support in the Office of Institutional Research and Decision Support at Emory University. She has more than a decade of experience in higher education analytics, institutional research, assessment, and business intelligence. Her expertise includes student success analytics, survey research, predictive modeling, data visualization, dashboard development, and strategic reporting. She partners with university leaders to transform complex institutional data into actionable insights that support student success, academic planning, resource allocation, and evidence-based decision-making.
Dr. Ingrole leads the development of institutional dashboards, retention and progression tracking systems, survey-based assessment initiatives, and executive reporting tools. She has played a key role in advancing data-informed decision-making through the integration of analytics, governance practices, and emerging technologies. Her work also focuses on the responsible use of artificial intelligence in higher education, including AI governance, analytics strategy, and organizational readiness for AI adoption.
An active contributor to the institutional research profession, Dr. Ingrole serves on national committees and regularly presents at regional and national conferences on topics related to analytics, data governance, student success, and artificial intelligence in higher education. She currently serves on the Association for Institutional Research (AIR) Nominations and Elections Committee and is a member of several national professional working groups focused on institutional effectiveness and assessment.
Prior to joining Emory University, Dr. Ingrole held institutional research and analytics positions at Northern Virginia Community College and Florida State University. She earned her doctoral degree in Educational Psychology and has built her career at the intersection of data, technology, and higher education strategy, helping institutions leverage information to improve outcomes and support student success.
