Associate Director of Evaluation
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Chapel Hill, North Carolina, United States
Chris Davidson is Associate Director of Evaluation at UNC Chapel Hill, where he leads assessment for the IDEAS in Action general education curriculum. With over 15 years across large public research universities and functional areas, he specializes in learning outcomes assessment, program evaluation, and making complex institutional planning actually manageable.
What started as using AI to brainstorm his way through UNC's ambitious and complex general education outcomes evolved into a systematic methodology that now shapes how he approaches everything from faculty surveys to analyzing student work at scale to brainstorming methods and protocols. This approach lets him show up to stakeholder meetings with developed proposals, talking points, and anticipated concerns already worked through—which turns out to make a huge difference in getting buy-in.
Chris holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education and a Graduate Certificate in Educational Research from Virginia Tech. At AIR Forum, he'll share how other assessment and IR professionals can use this methodology to tackle their own complex institutional challenges.
