Throughout her career, Ekaterina Sule has focused on strengthening how data is used to inform strategic decision-making in higher education. She brings a strong track record of collaboration, data governance leadership, and fostering a culture of data-informed decision-making across diverse stakeholders.
Prior to joining the University System of Maryland (USM), Ekaterina served as Assistant Director at Howard Community College, where she led regulatory reporting and managed the collection, analysis, and reporting of institutional data. As a member of the College Policy and Procedure Advisory Committee, she advocated for effective data governance policies and institutional process improvements. She also serves as a peer evaluator for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
Ekaterina additionally volunteered as President of the Maryland Community College Research Group (MCCRG), leading statewide data collection efforts and facilitating policy and reporting collaboration among the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC), the Maryland Association of Community Colleges (MACC), and institutional research leaders across all 16 Maryland community colleges. In this role, she led the data collection and outcomes measurement for a high-profile Non-Credit Credential study supporting the Richmond Federal Reserve.
Earlier in her career, Ekaterina held several roles at University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) within Enrollment Management. She also managed operations for the Waldorf Center for Higher Education and supervised military education coordinators supporting active-duty and veteran students across U.S. East Coast military installations.
Ekaterina is a proud USM alumna, holding a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland Global Campus and a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania.
